Bottled for the first time with the 2004 harvest, this wine is the purest and most direct expression of Bolgheri according to Le Macchiole. Red of grace and intensity, joyful and easy to drink, it does not give up matter and complexity.

A winter with temperatures in line with the seasonal average, rains that will then continue in the spring period and a bud break slightly later than the previous year due to slightly lower temperatures than the average. The accumulation of water and humidity in the soil, which suffered from the drought of the previous year and the rise in temperatures at the beginning of May, led to a rapid development and growth of the shoots. The winter and spring rains and the high percentage of humidity in the air contributed to a rapid growth of the vegetative part of the plant, with consequent poor ventilation of the leaf wall which created the ideal conditions for the onset of downy mildew and therefore required a careful and intense work on the plant to stem the phenomenon. The summer period was characterized by frequent and careful tillage of the soil, with the aim of dispersing the humidity as much as possible. In addition to these interventions, frequent topping was carried out on all the vineyards, in order to keep the leaf wall well ventilated. In the second half of July, on the other hand, a targeted selection was made on the plant to leave only the best bunches on the shoots. The harvest period got off to a regular start, in line with the "ordinary" vintages, starting with the white grapes harvested in the third week of August and ending between the third and fourth week of September with the Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties, all of good and excellent quality.
