Campoleone IGT Umbria Lamborghini
Campoleone IGT Umbria Rosso is the representative wine of the company. Composed of 50% Sangiovese and 50% Merlot, it is produced in Umbria, in the area of Lake Trasimeno.
The vineyards from which it comes are in small part of the seventies while almost the majority are given by more recent plants with a density of 5,500 vines per hectare and a yield per plant that never exceeds 1kg.
Maceration lasts for eighteen days in contact with the skins. After the malolactic fermentation, totally carried out in barrique, the aging of the Sangiovese and Merlot takes place separately for a period of twelve months in French oak barriques.
The wines are assembled only before being bottled where they refine at least six months. Long aging red, elegantly complex wine with solid structure.
At sight it has a deep ruby red color, the bouquet is very broad, ranging between notes of cassis and plums, violet, tobacco, leather with a slightly spicy balsamic background. The tannins are ripe and enveloping and the finish is long and persistent.
It goes well with roasted red meat, game, spicy cheeses and chocolate
