Gelsaia Raboso Piave Malanotte DOCG Cecchetto
Raboso Piave made, since the 1997 vintage, with the drying of a part of the grapes and precursor of the new DOCG Piave Malanotte, the first Treviso DOCG from red grape variety. Its name derives from mulberry, a plant that at the beginning of the last century in the Treviso area was used as a tutor or support for the vine. Intense and dense ruby color, it is expressed with stratified aromas of cherry, plum and dried fruit such as dates, figs and sultanas.
HISTORIC VINTAGE FOR THE RABOSO. Raboso, being the red berried variety with the latest harvest, benefited more than the other varieties from the temperature drops at the end of September-early October; this led to a considerable accumulation of anthocyanins and aromatic substances in the skins, but above all it made sure that this year we found ourselves with a phenolic and technological ripening of the grapes that took place with a particular synchronism, as we have not seen for years. With effects on the quality of the wine that were immediately evident at the end of the vinification.
