The first wine ever produced in Montalcino by blending the grapes of the Sangiovese and Merlot. Associate the roundness and softness of Merlot with the structure and elegance of Sangiovese might seem like an obvious thing, and yet never before had been accomplished. Thanks to the cooperation of the family of Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi and Robert Mondavi, the innovative work accomplished in the land of the Brunello of Montalcino, world famous wine obtained exclusively from Sangiovese grapes.
Since 2002 the responsibility passed entirely into the hands of Lamberto Frescobaldi and in the land of the Brunello di Montalcino continues to write the story of Light, joining the tradition of Sangiovese, the typical grape of the area, the innovation of the Merlot introduced to Montalcino in 1976.
