Mugnaga Rosso Croatina Zerbosco
Croatina, an ancient native vine of northern Italy, very common in Oltrepò Pavese, particularly rustic and resistant, planted on the ridges of steep hills facing north, matures more slowly, maintaining fresher aromas and fruity aromas. A variety that requires long pruning and a high number of buds to maintain a good ratio between leaf surface and number of bunches. It is among the varieties with the highest content of polyphenols in the skin, which determine its intense red color.
Color: Intense ruby red with purple notes.
Bouquet: Accentuated and intriguing, wild berries, violets and strawberries prevail.
Taste: Sweet and full, balanced and harmonious, pleasantly tannic. Persistent and with a pleasant aftertaste.
The short maceration on the skins and the limited aging period allow to enhance the characteristic aromas of this variety. The wine is in fact characterized by hints of red fruit, violet, strawberry and morello cherry. The Barbera which is found in the lower part of this vineyard is less exposed to the sun and retains more acidity, thus bringing freshness to this wine.
