The Tawny is a great Graham's Aged Tawny. Matured for an average of seven to nine years in casks of seasoned oak, this is the personal interpretation of Graham's Master Blender, an old Port, and fine. It is for those who seek a more rewarding experience from a Tawny Port of middle age.
This younger style of Tawny Port is aged, it preserves some of the flavours and ripe tannins of the fruit of the grape, which are complemented by the added complexity obtained from almost a decade of aging in oak.
Charles Symington, Master Blender Graham, which will include The Tawny some wines that are considerably older in such a way that The Tawny possesses most of the distinctive features of the long aging in oak barrels.
Color: intense golden-amber.
Aromas: complex aromas of orange peel and aromas of cinnamon, plums, raisins and figs. A full bodied and generous, with a long, clean finish.
Occasions and matching: goes perfectly with almond tart or Crème Brûlée; or on its own as a fine after lunch or dinner, also excellent as an aperitif.
Serve slightly cold.
