More details

There is no certain news about the origin of this name (Ruchè), the hypothesis most accredited call that it has arrived in Piedmont in the medieval period, imported from France by Monks who settled in the lands around the monastery, now disappeared, a sacred place, dedicated to San Rocco.

Some believe that the name derives from “roncet”, a degeneration infectious that in times past attacked the grapes of the area and in front of which the Ruchè proved to be particularly resistant. Other scenes recall the derivation of the Piedmontese term “roche”, zone entrenched and difficult to work with. From recent studies carried out by the company MONTALBERA and careful analysis of the grape ( research on DNA conducted by MONTALBERA in collaboration with the Centre for scientific BIOESIS ) and Its organoleptic characteristics, it seems possible that the name derives from the ancient vines of Haute-Savoie. From time immemorial, only this area of the Asti is to all intents a vine, the asti area for a centuries-old acquisition. With the 2010 vintage is granted the DOCG status, further recognition of the quality of this rare native.

Color: Red, bright with violet hues when young, tending to garnet with ageing.
Bouquet: intense, persistent, aromatic, fruity, with scents of rose petals and violets in the early years, evolving to notes of spice with time.
