The volcanoes in this area have been extinct for millions of years now, but a series of ancient underwater eruptions have covered the soil with basalts and tuffs. It is in these rough and porous volcanic rocks that a very ancient native vine has its roots: Durella, whose presence is attested in the Lessini Mountains since the first half of the eighteenth century.
