Nussbaumer Gewürztraminer Alto Adige DOC Tramin Kellerei
It is our maximum expression of the Italian style of Gewürztraminer. The most awarded Gewürztraminer in Italy.
Color: deep straw yellow, golden reflections
Smell: A surprising olfactory kaleidoscope of floral notes of rose petals, spicy white flowers like
lily, ylang ylang, tiare; exotic notes of ripe yellow fruit, melon, mango, passion fruit, lemon peel; aromatic spices such as cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, ginger, saffron.
Taste: Full-bodied, deep, spicy, juicy, intense aroma and freshness, marked minerality that is accentuated with aging, making it even more seductive and with an extremely persistent finish.
Winter ended with heavy snowfalls in the mountains. Milder-than-usual temperatures in March and April and well-fed soils led to uneven and premature germination. May was characterized by lower temperatures which delayed flowering. The heat and humidity of June increased the risk of fungal diseases, which was contained thanks to careful manual work in the vineyard. The remaining summer months were characterized by a period of drought, interrupted only by some severe thunderstorms. Two heatwaves have practically had no downsides. Since mid-August, temperatures have dropped sharply. During the whole harvest period there was a strong thermal excursion. The harvest began two weeks later than the previous year. The white wines of the 2019 vintage boast an impressive freshness, while the Gewürztraminer are particularly elegant. The red wines, on the other hand, have decidedly fruity notes and a lively tannic structure.
