Stoan Alto Adige DOC Tramin Kellerei
Stoan it is a unique wine of its kind, which reflects the wealth and potential of our territory. A lively blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Pinot Bianco and Gewürztraminer, son of the creative mind of our winemaker.
Color: golden yellow
Smell: elegant and refined, with fruity notes of peach, apricot, pear, sambuca, kumquat (Chinese mandarin), white flowers with fine spicy notes, jasmine, mimosa
Taste: deep fruity aromas of pineapple, banana, pear, tomato leaf, green pepper and citrus peel; harmonious and balanced, with delicate minerality and flavor; very fine and persistent finish, soft and mineral. O thy and versatile accompaniment for appetizers and savory dishes, wonderful with fish dishes, with spiced white meats and or with spiced pork with mushrooms.
Winter ended with heavy snowfalls in the mountains. Milder-than-usual temperatures in March and April and well-fed soils led to uneven and premature germination. May was characterized by lower temperatures which delayed flowering. The heat and humidity of June increased the risk of fungal diseases, which was contained thanks to careful manual work in the vineyard. The remaining summer months were characterized by a period of drought, interrupted only by some severe thunderstorms. Two heatwaves have practically had no downsides. Since mid-August, temperatures have dropped sharply. During the whole harvest period there was a strong thermal excursion. The harvest began two weeks later than the previous year. The white wines of the 2019 vintage boast an impressive freshness, while the Gewürztraminer are particularly elegant. The red wines, on the other hand, have decidedly fruity notes and a lively tannic structure.
