Unterebner Pinot Grigio was born in 1989 as a symbol of production towards the winery's values of excellence. It reveals the surprising finesse and elegance of this vine, giving it a strong alpine imprint, beyond all fashions and trends.

Color: golden yellow
Flavor: fine, fresh and elegant notes of pear and hay, toast with spread butter, spicy notes of tobacco, vanilla and incense.
Taste: full and rich, soft and dense with a typical alpine freshness, good juiciness, minerality, persistent finish with great character. Excellent with light first courses, with fish dishes and with lightly spiced white meats; perfect with all smoked fish and meat foods, and with grilled vegetables.

Winter ended with heavy snowfalls in the mountains. Milder-than-usual temperatures in March and April and well-fed soils led to uneven and premature germination. May was characterized by lower temperatures which delayed flowering. The heat and humidity of June increased the risk of fungal diseases, which was contained thanks to careful manual work in the vineyard. The remaining summer months were characterized by a period of drought, interrupted only by some severe thunderstorms. Two heatwaves have practically had no downsides. Since mid-August, temperatures have dropped sharply. During the whole harvest period there was a strong thermal excursion. The harvest began two weeks later than the previous year. The white wines of the 2019 vintage boast an impressive freshness, while the Gewürztraminer are particularly elegant. The red wines, on the other hand, have decidedly fruity notes and a lively tannic structure.
