S. Erasmo, an island in the Venetian lagoon, has for centuries supplied fresh vegetables and vegetables to the city of Venice. In the vegetable gardens of the island are produced the "castraure" and the violet artichoke of S. Erasmo, famous throughout Italy.
Already in the 16th century there were many vineyards on the island that were neglected in the following centuries.
Michel Thoulouze together with his family decided to relaunch the cultivation of vines and the production of wine on the island, using the traditional methods of local farmers and the technical expertise of Lydia and Claude Bourguignon, agricultural engineers, and Alain Graillot Crozes Ermitage, producer wine producer whose wines are famous all over the world.
Michel Thoulouze's company today produces a wine called "ORTO" which collects all the best characteristics linked to this special territory and is the only one that is produced within the confines of the Venice lagoon.
