The viticulture has been the heart of Bricco dei Guazzi since its birth, as history has shown already since 1400. Here, each plot with its microenvironment and with his personality, the bride, a vine, giving life, after working in the cellar, to the wine the one that tells about the places of origin. To preserve the authenticity of the art of “making wine” also means to preserve, and to believe in the varieties, discover and enhance the potential. The emblem of this philosophy is the rediscovery made in the recent past of Albarossa, whose Bricco dei Guazzi, today, with its 5 hectares is one of the largest producers in the world. It is 1938 when Dr. Dalmasso – italy a native of the asti area – conducting studies on the vines from piedmont, has the intuition to cross the powerful Nebbiolo di Dronero with the Barbera, in order to overcome some of the criticalities of the individual vines. Among the various clones obtained, the one called Albarossa seemed – starting from the 90's – to arouse greater attention to the characteristics that she knew how to express. The expectations of the Company have been widely carried out because in 2016, has received the most important recognitions from the Industry Guides.
