Phraya, east. 2011. To be honest, the story originates much earlier; It was 1977 when the Sangsom Distillery was founded, today considered among the oldest in Thailand. With the launch of Phraya the distillery, known for the production of quality Thai rum, decides to put its skills to the test, with an innovative impetus. Produced in the province of Nakhon Pathom, the first and oldest national city, this rum brings with it virtuous characteristics, starting from the choice of name; “Phraya”, in fact, is a Thai word used in the past to indicate one of the highest degrees that could be conferred on someone by the king, indicating his exceptional ability. The symbolism behind Phraya is also virtuous: earth, water, fire, air. The cosmogony concerning the connection between human microcosm and natural macrocosm, for which the life of the human species and the survival of the cosmos depends on the balance between the elements, served as the inspiring muse for the creation of Phraya. With the aim of producing a blend with superior taste and experiential sensations, in Phraya each of the four elements plays a fundamental role, contributing to the uniqueness of this rum.
