The Pian delle Vigne estate, located 6 km south of Montalcino, above the Val d'Orcia, was acquired by Antinori in July 1995. It takes its name from a characteristic nineteenth-century railway station located within the estate, still in use.
The total area of the company is 184 hectares, of which 65 hectares are planted with vineyards, 2 hectares with olive groves and 117 hectares of wood.
With a bright ruby red color, it has a fruity scent rich in cherry and raspberry notes well integrated by delicate hints of wood. On the palate the wine is enveloping, with soft and silky tannins, energetic and persistent.
