Tenuta Tignanello is situated between the valleys of Greve and Pesa, in the heart of the Chianti Classico region, between the small villages of Montefiridolfi and Santa Maria a Macerata, 30 km south of Florence. In these 127 hectares of vineyards, the Antinori family has, more than elsewhere, expressed their philosophy: reconcile tradition and modernity, creating wines that are authentically tied to their land of origin. Solaia and Tignanello, the two wines icon of the estate, have been defined by the international press as “among the wines the most influential in the history of Italian wine” and are a constant symbol for the Antinori family of an endless challenge, fuelled by pure passion.
The Marchese Antinori Riserva is produced starting from the 2011 vintage, exclusively from the selection of grapes from the vineyards of Tenuta Tignanello, in the Mercatale Val di Pesa area in the Chianti Classico area.
It was the first Sangiovese to be aged in barrique, the first modern red wine blended with non-traditional varieties (such as Cabernet), and among the first red wines in Chianti to not use white grapes. Tignanello is a milestone.
Very intense ruby red color with purple reflections, the nose Solaia 2013 is characterized by notes of ripe red fruit with pleasantly fresh tones, accompanied by balsamic, licorice and mint hints.
