The il poggione estate is located in Sant'Angelo in Colle, about 10 km south of Montalcino. was founded in the late 1800s and was among the first to market the Brunello di Montalcino. It covers about 530 hectares, of which 140 are vineyards and 50 are olive groves.
Brunello is the prince of Montalcino wines. It is produced exclusively with hand-picked Sangiovese grapes from the company's oldest vineyards.
Younger and easier to approach version of Brunello, but already with an excellent structure and a great personality, Rosso di Montalcino is a very important wine for Tenuta Il Poggione.
