It was 1983 and among them were Silvia Imparato and Riccardo Cotarella. 6 years after the first bottles of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Aglianico, the first vintage of a wine that will have the same name as the castle: Montevetrano.
An extraordinary success, which continues today. After 20 years, to celebrate the first vintage of Montevetrano, Core is born, a new 100% Aglianico red wine which in 2015 is joined by Core Bianco, a blend of Fiano and Greco.
Today Montevetrano is an estate of 26 hectares, of which about 5 are vineyards, in the Regional Park of the Picentini Mountains, in Southern Italy. The vineyards are in San Cipriano Picentino, in an ancient property of the Bourbons 100 meters above sea level, on the crest of a hill among oaks, chestnuts, hazelnuts, citrus and olive trees, in the shade of an ancient medieval castle.
The borders are marked by bushes of blackberries and ancient roses that lead to the rows in the space of the "vineyard of the horse", at the height of the manor house of the end of the 1700s.
