The Smoky Ten 10YO Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whiskey Three Cask Matured BenRiach

In the early 1970s, Benriach broke convention on Speyside by returning to distilling batches of whiskey in the old 19th century style, using Highland peat-smoked barley malt. This wood-rich peat from the Highlands gives Benriach's smoked whiskeys distinctly sweet and smoky notes. Benriach Ten Smoked was made from a combination of unpeated and peated spirits and matured for at least ten years in a combination of bourbon barrels, Jamaican rum barrels and toasted virgin oak. The whiskey is then expertly blended to create sublimely smooth layers of sun-ripened fruit, aromatic smoke and toasted oak spice, which linger into the perfectly balanced sweet and smoky finish.
