Aged Grappa

Raw material
The best red pomace from the Berici and Euganean Hills (Veneto) is selected and packaged in the cellar in small closed containers and then sent for distillation in the shortest possible time.

Artisanal distillation
The FRATELLI BRUNELLO Distillery has always used a discontinuous direct steam system, one of the few still in operation, conducted at low pressure and low temperature. It is made up of 4 boilers strictly in copper, as tradition dictates.

The distillation cycle is very slow and involves the processing of small batches of (cooked) marc which lasts about an hour and a half.

Seasoning and Aging
After distillation it is left to rest for at least two years in inert steel containers.
It is then transferred to the Fiscal Warehouse where it will age in new and second passage barrels in 350 liter Allier oak for over twelve months.
During this period the magical alchemy of the slow and gradual transfer to the grappa of the color, the aromas and the toasting of the wood takes place.

Tasting
Grappa ORO 1840 has a balanced, intriguing and captivating olfactory taste.
At sight it appears with marked golden reflections.
On the palate it is round, warm but not aggressive, pleasant spicy notes, cocoa and tobacco, rich and fragrant. It fully demonstrates the characteristics of an artisanal grappa with a modern taste, a splendid example of balance between primary and tertiary aromas, deriving from skilful aging in wood.

Service and Pairings
12-15 ° C in tulip-shaped glass.
Excellent when paired with extra dark chocolate 70% cocoa or with cheeses aged over 18 months, alone or with red fruit jam.
It is surprising if it accompanies a chocolate-based spoon dessert or if combined with a good artisan cigar.

Alcohol content and packaging
40 Alc. - 500 ml bottle packed in a cardboard box.
