Monteriolo Chardonnay Piedmont DOC Coppo

Chardonnay, in Piedmont, is not as many believe a modern introduction. Its presence is attested starting from the first half of the 19th century thanks to the initiative of Filippo Asinari, Count of San Marzano and Costigliole and an important political-military figure. On his return from France, where he had collaborated alongside Napoleon, he brought with him some Chardonnay cuttings from the famous Montrachet vineyard to plant them in Costigliole. Their presence on the territory still persists because the composition of our soil and the microclimate congenial to them has allowed them to take root.
Give it enough air and this wine will reveal dynamic and tasty aromas. Monteriolo draws its balance from aging on the lees.
