Its denomination derives from the earliness of ripening. Its origin is uncertain, while its arrival in Italy is due to the Benedictines, who introduced it in the seventeenth century.
A wine with a deep purplish red color with ruby reflections. Dense bouquet of small berries, blackberry and plum, with delicate floral notes. Imposing, elegant, austere taste, supported by smooth tannins and a vibrant acid-mineral vein. Endless finish in perfect correspondence with the sense of smell. Roasts and meat sauce, braised meats, feathered and furred game and great cheeses.
