Bright ruby red color, the nose predominates the fruity note of cassis and wild strawberry.
Sangiovese, Merlot and Syrah. When the vintage allows it, this personal, warm and enveloping wine is born, with soft tannins and a persistent finish. The scent is fruity, with notes of plum and black cherry. Try it on guinea fowl stuffed with sage, pan-fried pigeon and wild boar stew.
Harvested at the end of September, the fermentation, which lasted about 20 days, took place in 30 Hl concrete tanks. After racking, the wine rested for 18 months, partly in cement and partly in second passage oak barrels from the Barolo area. Finally it rested in the bottle.
Brunello is the prince of Montalcino wines. It is produced exclusively with hand-picked Sangiovese grapes from the company's oldest vineyards.
From Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino grapes, at an altitude of about 300 meters, Chianti Ugo Bing is born. Intense, fruity and fresh, it is the true expression of the terroir. Well balanced and persistent, with hints of flowers. Best with game and red meats, braised beef, stuffed pheasant.

Younger and easier to approach version of Brunello, but already with an excellent structure and a great personality, Rosso di Montalcino is a very important wine for Tenuta Il Poggione.
