Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Biondi Santi
Brunello di Montalcino Biondi-Santi is the first Brunello in history and for 150 years it has embodied the vision that inspired Clemente Santi in the creation of its first expression in the nineteenth century. Today, as then, it is a distinct wine, with a complex and refined personality.
After a rainy winter, a relatively rainy and rather temperate spring followed. Summer brought warmth and stability, but temperatures generally remained below average. The rains at the end of August / beginning of September prolonged the pre-harvest period, leading to a slow and very balanced ripening of the grapes. In particular, they were able to benefit from a very high temperature range between day and night which favored the aromatic charge. The harvest began on 19 September more than a week later than the average for Biondi-Santi.
Brunello di Montalcino Biondi-Santi 2016 is a wine full of light and energy with a bouquet of crunchy fruity notes, where black cherry, blood orange and small red berries stand out, accompanied by balsamic sensations and fragrant herbs. In the mouth, energy and sweetness blend with elegance and balance. The silky tannins caress the palate and lead to a long and consistent aftertaste with the fruity notes perceived on the nose, while the final sapidity leaves us with a great sensation of freshness.
