Lupicaia Rosso di Medelana IGT Rosso Toscana 2018 Castello del Terriccio
The spearhead of the Estate was born in 1993 and immediately established itself as a champion. The highly selected grapes destined for this great red come from the Lupicaia vineyard, located in the most suitable part of the company and bordered by rows of eucalyptus. Lupicaia owes its name to a local toponym that originates from the stream of the same name where wolves were once sighted.
Constantly awarded by national and international wine critics as one of the greatest Italian wines, Lupicaia is a product of great character, a full-bodied red with complex aromas. A wine for aging and meditation.
Lupicaia is mainly composed of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. The refinement takes place separately in tonneaux d'Allier for about 22 months, there is then a subsequent assembly and a further period of refinement in the bottle before being marketed.
This wine comes from the attention and care taken in all the processes of its production, such as the manual selection of the best grapes and aging in tonneaux. It is produced in 30,000 bottles a year.
